TR-2 / OP-2: Catalysed lacquer

Catalyzed lacquer finish containing less solvent and higher solids elements. This finishing system is nowadays more popular because of its easy use (no pot life) as well acceptable VOCs.

TR-3 / OP-3: Water based lacquer

Water based finish containing less VOC, therefore, less polluting components. One of the disadvantages of this system is the whitish milky finish compared to a solvent based lacquer system. Consequently, it is in lesser demand and requires greater attention with regards to storage (against frost) and drying conditions.

TR-4 / OP-4: Catalysed varnish

Catalyzed varnish finishing containing high solids and presenting great physical properties. This system is still preferred today in the furniture and kitchen cabinet industries. Its short pot life and the release of strong odors, both at time of application and when drying, are two of the disadvantages when compared to lacquer systems.

TR-5 / OP-5: Catalysed vinyl

High solids catalysed vinyl finish system meeting the environmental requirements. This finishing system can be sprayed in thin or thicker layers. It offers excellent durability and chemical resistance properties. In return, its short pot life, its appearance as well as its rarity on the market are unfavorable.

TR-6 / OP-6: Polyurethane / Acrylic (Specialty of Carrier Finishing)

High solids polyurethane and acrylic polyurethane finishes. These systems are UV resistant and extremely durable. They are offered in clear as well as in colors. They are gaining popularity in the architectural millwright markets because of their wear resistance properties as well as their ease of application. Consequently, given the easiness of this system to be polished, it is suitable to very high gloss finishing. Aside from the short pot life, these systems also require rigorous installation process.

TR-7 / OP-7: Polyester / Polyurethane (Specialty of Carrier Finishing)

This polyester finish offers the highest solids content of all finishes. Cured surfaces are very high gloss and very hard yet, less flexible than the polyurethane and acrylic polyurethane TR-6 / OP-6 finishes. The major inconvenience of this installation are the extremely short pot life.
